The postcard craze of the early 1900s has provided many colorful vintage images of the 4th of July. Fourth of July postcards featured plenty of firecrackers, Lady Liberty, Uncle Sam and of course the American flag. Red, white and blue abounds on these vintage July 4th images. Don't mistake the firecrackers for sticks of dynamite as I first did - I thought it quite odd that so many children appeared to be holding dynamite - but no problem - those are just firecrackers they're playing with!
